After a long week of wedding bliss, travel and excitement, our first night in Camps Bay left us wanting pizza so we hopped on TA and found Dizzy’s. We chose it bc its not ON the water and didnt appear as stuffy as some of the more glamorous places. We could not have chosen better and were so delighted we went back again before we left!! The pizza/ribs/wine were fantastic and the atmosphere hip, funky and relaxed. We chose to sit on the couches both nights and were delighted to have great conversation with a gentleman who happened to be one of the owners. He added to our fantastic evening as we chatted kids, politics and worldly events–thank you sir!! We recommend Dizzy’s to anyone looking to chill and grub on some down home good food!
Sick of the meat and seafood selections on the main drag, we were craving something simple like pizza. Popped in on a rainy quiet Monday night and ordered a mix of veggie and ham and pineapple with a simple salad. Wasn’t expecting anything other than average but, my god, the thinnest, crispiest base with the toppings spread evenly to the edges with love, made for one of the best we’d ever had. With the chopped garlic and chilli to add on the side, we scoffed the lot in minutes. Salad was fresh and tasty too and washed down with a delightful Pinotage. John, our server, was a sweetheart and ensured we were welcome and not wanting for anything.
We had dinner here as a group of 4 and the atmosphere was excellent. Food good, the pizzas looked great although we had ribs and fish (both good). This a great place to drink and have something to absorb the alcohol. If you are looking for sophisticated dining, this is not the place to be. It is what it is – a great place to meet and drink with friends (and eat if you are hungry!)
